One of the primary focuses of Marija’s work is chamber music. She has presented concerts with numerous ensembles ranging in size from duo to quintet. She has enjoyed fruitful and inspiring collaborations with musicians of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as with the Swiss tenor Christoph Homberger, among many others. Marija is currently planning programs with violinist Simone Roggen and cellist Cecilia Garcia.
Deseo de Tango
Marija is a passionate tango pianist, regularly performing and touring with her various tango projects throughout Europe. With her quintet “Deseo de Tango” she has taken part in several productions for Swiss Radio and Television: “Schreckmümpfeli” (2010), a CD production in collaboration with DRS 1, and Geneva’s « la boîte à musique » (2007) for TSR 1. Combining tango with contemporary classical music and jazz, “Deseo de Tango” creates innovative projects and performances in collaboration with Swiss contemporary composers. Marija also works closely with Argentinian bandoneonist and composer Luciano Jungman.
